Strategic Thinking:

The City of Kamloops needed millions of dollars in new provincial funding to complete the Tournament Capital Expansion and realize infrastructure improvement needed to encourage additional tourism to the region.

Creative Solutions:

Applying research and experience, Communication Solutions created a flash movie called " Place in the Sun", designed to present the City’s priority funding needs while presenting the community vision in an emotional and enthusiastic way.

Tangible Results:

After viewing the flash movie, Premier Campbell referred to Kamloops as “The Place in the Sun” in a speech and commented that Kamloops  “was one of two cities in BC to have its act together”.  Within 60 days, Kamloops received $6 million from Victoria to meet its Tournament Capital Expansion funding requirements.
